Bugbears are a shorter, furrier goblinoid than hobgoblins. They also tend toward the jovial and charismatic and are often diplomats or administrators.

Bugbear society is in many ways hedonistic. They seek pleasure in everything. Many Bugbears live on Epicurea because of this. Their families are loose and informal. Bugbears often have many mates over the course of their two centuries of life. Children are raised by whichever bugbear enclave takes a liking to them. With the lack of religion and clear definitions of right and wrong, most of Loar has come to accept this chaotic definition of family.

Bugbears are prone to be disease carriers, but their hearty constitutions help them ignore most of the detrimental effects of these. There are very few half-bugbears, though.
